PLAYWRIGHThome, sweet (2M, 2W) As honey bees around the world begin to disappear, a research scientist returns home to New Jersey for the first time in years. Aboard a spaceship in the future, a captain in the throes of an intergalactic war tries to guide his crew to safety. And at an elementary school in Newark, two young teachers just try to hold on. A whimsical comedy influenced by the films of Wes Anderson - home, sweet is about the longing we have for home, and the difficulty we have in finding it.
Inside the Hand (3M, 3W)Inside the Hand
is a play with music, set just as the financial collapse began in the fall of 2008. Dustin and Greg technically work for GM (though they now spend their days at a jobs bank), while Mark works as an investment banker for a hedge fund in New York. Ten years earlier they were local rockstars, and the closest of friends. An accident brings them together again, forcing them to confront the events that pulled them apart. Inside the Hand is about capitalism and rock and roll, about growing up and taking responsibility for both who you were and who you have
become.
These Northern Stars (2M)A one act play (50 minutes) that looks at the dissolution of a friendship, told in reverse. Since the age of 4, Drew and Parker have played hockey together in the Minnesota cold. But when even the North Star moves, nothing can remain the same.
